Qualifications

Cogstone offers a highly skilled team of in-house scientists, a management staff of experienced leaders, and the administrative support and laboratory facilities needed for effective scientific investigation and environmental compliance.   All technical personnel have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree but many have graduate degrees.  Our core employees include program managers/principal investigators in each technical area, field and laboratory directors in paleontology and archaeology, GIS specialists, field and laboratory technicians, a business/contract manager plus marketing and clerical staff.  We maintain relationships with a wide variety of specialist subcontractors to supplement our in-house expertise when needed. Our qualified archaeology monitors also have dedicated cross-training in paleontology.

We provide orientation and training for new employees.  This includes orientation to company procedures, company intranet, safety and other items and paleontology training for all technical personnel.  All technical employees participate in 32 hours a year of mandatory company training to advance technical knowledge, practice proper completion of field tasks and review safety. We also provide opportunities for staff to increase their skill sets.  Field personnel have completed 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification, API WorkSafe Training, E-Railsafe Training and similar programs. Non-technical personnel are also provided training opportunities including project management certification.
